LOCATION: The role will be based at IRLI’s office at The Distillery
Building, * Church Street, Dublin 7 with
options for hybrid working – approximately 2 days per week in the
office.

BACKGROUND

Irish Rule of Law International (IRLI) is a project-orientated,
non-profit rule of law initiative established in **Apply on the
website**. IRLI is dedicated to promoting the rule of law and human
rights and has access to justice projects in Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi,
and South Africa. IRLI serves as the charitable arm of the legal
professions in Ireland and Northern Ireland, fostering collaboration
between legal professionals and stakeholders in the project countries.

THE ROLE

The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading IRLI’s
corporate governance, finance, administration, and human resources
functions. This senior role, reporting to the Executive Director, will
oversee key aspects of organisational governance, ensuring compliance
with relevant Irish and international regulations and managing the
operational backbone that supports IRLI’s impactful work in Africa.
As a vital member of the executive team, the Director of Operations
will work closely with the financial controller and office manager to
align day-to-day operations with the strategic vision of IRLI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Corporate Governance: Working with the Executive Director to
develop strategic plans, oversee risk management, and ensure
compliance with relevant regulations across operational regions.
* Finance: Managing financial aspects such as budgeting,
forecasting, and compliance, and liaising with auditors and financial
institutions as needed.
* Charitable Governance: Ensuring that IRLI meets its charitable
objectives and complies with Irish charity regulations.
* Administration: Overseeing facilities, procurement, and office
administration to ensure a well-functioning workspace.
* Human Resources: Leading recruitment, retention, and HR
compliance, and implementing policies to support staff well-being and
development.
* Knowledge Management: Developing systems to manage documents and
resources, enabling smooth access to critical information.
